Starting a Firo masternode

Six steps. You will need a Firo wallet holding 1,000 FIRO, and about twenty minutes the first time you do it.

  1. Add the masternode here

On your dashboard press Add a masternode and choose Firo. Nothing is charged yet - this only tells us which coin you are hosting.

  2. Pay for the first month

Two ways, and they end in the same place.

payments Pay for this one order

Choose how many months and confirm. You are given an address, an exact amount and a memo - send all three exactly as shown, from your own wallet. The amount is fixed at the moment you confirm, so the rate moving afterwards does not change what you owe. The memo is what matches your payment to your order; one sent without it has to be sorted out by hand.

    account_balance_wallet Pay from your balance

Press Top up on your balance card and send any amount you like, whenever you like. Once it has arrived, paying for a masternode is a single press with nothing to send and nothing to wait for.

lightbulbRunning more than one masternode? Top up first. One transaction covers all of them, every payment after it is instant, and the same balance renews them month after month without you doing anything.

  3. Wait for the payment

Paid from your balance, there is nothing to wait for: it is done the moment you press the button.

Paid by transaction, it needs 20 confirmations on the Firo network. You can watch them count up in the payment window, or close it and come back to your dashboard later - we keep watching either way.

Once it is paid, the masternode is given the address it will run on and moves to Needs setup.

  4. Do the wallet side

This part happens in your own wallet, and it is the only part with real work in it. The Firo team document it themselves, and their guide is the one that stays right when their wallet changes:

infoSkip everything about renting, installing or configuring a VPS. That server is ours and it is already running - you only need the parts that happen in your wallet.

What you are doing there is sending 1,000 FIRO to yourself to lock as collateral, and then registering the masternode on the network - the ProTx. You will come away with the two things this site asks for: the operator BLS secret key and the ProRegTx hash.

Wait until the registration transaction has at least 1 confirmation before you carry on - until the network has accepted it, there is nothing here for us to check your values against.

  5. Finish the setup here

Back on your dashboard the masternode now offers Finish setup. Press it, paste in what your wallet gave you, and save. We check the collateral against the Firo network before accepting it, so if something was mistyped you are told which value it was rather than left guessing.

  6. It starts

Within a minute or two the masternode is in the configuration and running, and your dashboard shows it as Running. There is nothing to install and nothing to keep switched on at your end.

Three things worth doing next

autorenew

Keep a balance, and it renews itself

Two or three days before a masternode runs out, we take the next month from your balance automatically. Nothing to remember and nothing to miss. If the balance is short we tell you instead of letting it stop quietly.
